About ME
I started this blog shortly after I turned 32 simply because I wanted to, and because I wanted to start calling myself a writer again. Like many, I started writing as soon as I was old enough to form letters into words. I made up my own stories, just like the ones in the books my parents read to me, and made construction paper books illustrated with crayon drawings and held together with yarn. Those were the “good old days.”
But these are the “good old days” too. I’m married to my high school sweetheart, and we have two children. Our son Walter was our pandemic baby, born in August of 2020. Our daughter Phoebe joined us in November 2022. We also have two cats, Paisley and Oliver. I work part-time in marketing and product development for a large funeral stationery company, and on the side I’m working to slowly build my tiny photography business into something a little less tiny.
Topics on my mind as I start this blog include: plants, motherhood (especially the things I think need to be talked about more,) photography, where I’ve come from and how I’ve gotten to where I am now, family life, the beauty of the mundane, and what it means to be “strong.”
Some of my favorite things (in no particular order): Coca-Cola, the ocean, summer, relaxing in front of the TV, pepperoni pizza, fancy cocktails, iced vanilla lattes, and watching my children discover their own favorite things
